BMI Below 18.5
 
This is a fairly low BMI and will show that you are probably underweight and have low levels of fat. This could cause health problems through a weakened immune system. Anyone with this BMI should not even consider losing weight. Weight should be increased to a more healthier level by increasing calories through a healthy diet and undergoing an exercise program involving weight training to increase muscle mass.
 
 
BMI Between 18.5 and 24.9
 
If your BMI is in this range then it will indicate a normal healthy weight, with a lowered expectancy of the serious illnesses associated with being overweight. Most people in this category are not only healthier but are percieved to have bodies which are more pleasing to the eye.
 
 
BMI Between 25 and 29.9
 
If your BMI is in this range then you would be considered as being overweight. This will increase risks of illness and disease associated with obesity. You should consider losing some weight by improving your diet and becoming more active. Either through increased daily activities or though an exercise program.
 
 
BMI Between 30 and 39
 
If your BMI is in this range, then you will have reached a level of obesity. You need to change your lifestyle drastically. It is essential that you start making healthy changes where your diet is concerned, and begin an exercise program. Your risk of illness and disease is highly increased at this range.
 
 
BMI Over 40
 
If your BMI is over 40 then you would be considered as being extremely obese. You are at a very serious level where major diseases associated with execessive weight could be likely. In this range it is very important hat you seek medical advice at the first opportunity.
 
 
 
 
Always seek medical advice when making any major changes to your diet, and prior to starting an exercise program. Especially if you have been inactive for a time.
