If you are chasing a method for easy weight loss then I have some bad news for you.

 

 

You are wasting your time, efforts, and money, because there is no such thing as easy weight loss. It’s a strange situation that nearly everyone will know from their own experiences or just plain common sense that there is no easy way to lose weight, but this doesn’t stop people spending millions of dollars each year on weight loss methods that are never going to work.

 

 

 

Again and again people will buy hyped up weight loss products that end up not working, but the saying 'once bitten twice shy' is meaningless in the quest for weight loss. People keep on failing again and again in losing weight but they never consider the fact that perhaps turning to basics will get them the results that they crave for, instead of pinning their hopes on some miracle quack product.

 

The fact is that there is no one way of successfully losing weight. There are two basics to losing weight successfully and they are diet and exercise. When I talk about diet, I don’t mean going on a diet of any sorts. In our society the word diet is linked to weight loss. In reality the word diet just means what an individual person eats, and that’s it. If you eat 2000 healthy calories or eat 4000 unhealthy calories you are on a diet either way. One is a good diet; the other is a bad diet.

 

So when I talk about diet, what I mean is that you have to look at yours. Is it good diet or is it a bad diet? This will not be a question that will be too difficult to answer. You don’t need to be some sort of nutritional guru to know if the food that you are eating is good for you or if it's bad for you. You will already know.

 

If you want to lose weight then sort out your diet. Cut out all the junk food and replace it with vegetables, fish, lean meat, fruit etc. you don’t have to cut huge amounts of calories from your daily diet as some weight loss programs advocate. This will actually prevent you from losing weight in the long term. If you think you are eating too many calories then fine, cut out some of them, but never more than a quarter of your daily intake.

 

The second factor in losing weight is exercise. This is the bit that most people who want to lose weight, dread. Nobody is asking you to run a marathon, do a triathlon, workout 7 days a week, or train like a Spartan. The problem why exercise is often feared is that people read up on the exercise programs that people do who have lost weight, and think that no way are they capable of doing that.

 

It doesn’t have to be like that. Do you really think that the people who have reached certain levels of fitness, started out training the way that they do today? Of course they didn’t, they started small and built up their capabilities over time, as their bodies became fitter. It doesn’t matter where you start; the important thing is that you do start somewhere. It doesn’t matter what your capabilities are compared to others, but it matters that you are stretching yourself more than what you were when you were doing nothing.

 

Exercise should be progressive, you keep adding a bit more each time that you do it and all these little extra bits will over time add up to one large jump from where you initially began. Don’t worry about others and what they can do, as long as you are doing something and improving, well that’s all that matters.

 

As you can see, the principles behind weight loss are not complicated; in fact the premise is pretty easy. The hard part is doing what you know you need to do for an extended period of time with discipline, commitment, and perseverance. Accept this fact and stop chasing quick fixes, because you will never catch one. Easy weight loss is not going to be found in a pill, miracle drink, or any new over hyped diet. Doing things in the right way, is the only way to lose weight.
